To ensure accurate color and to maintain brand integrity, digital, offset, and wide format printing should be reviewed in controlled lighting conditions. GTI, the leading manufacturer of lighting systems for critical color viewing, color communication, and color matching assessment offers a range of ISO 3664:2009 compliant viewing systems that are ideally suited for print providers and designers of all sizes.

Robert McCurdy, President of GTI states, “Format size, substrate, and end use of the printed product all influence the viewing needs of a printer. GTI’s viewing systems allow printers and brand owners to evaluate their products under ISO 3664:2009 viewing conditions and under different lighting conditions enabling them to simulate the actual end use environment.” McCurdy adds, “We are delighted to be at Print 2017 and look forward to showing visitors how production and approval cycles can be shortened by implementing a proper viewing environment.”

GTI will be featuring a wide range of Graphiclite® Color Viewing Systems at Print 2017 which takes place from September 10th to 14th at McCormick Place in Chicago, IL. GTI will be located in booth 545 during the exhibition.

Featured GTI products at Print 2017 include:

CVX Color Viewing Stations
The CVX family of D50 color viewing stations features state-of-the-art electronic ballasts combined with GTI’s Graphiclite T8 fluorescent lamps. This combination produces superior light evenness, excellent rear wall illumination, and enhanced energy efficiency. Four models are available with viewing areas ranging from 29” x 52” to 48” x 130”.

All models conform to ISO 3664:2009 and include side walls. LiteGuard II, which displays lamp warm up, lamp hours, and remaining lamp life is also included. The CVX can be ordered with two or three light sources. A variety of floor stand and storage options are also available.

EVS Executive Viewing Stations
EVS D50 color viewing stations combine state-of-the-art electronic ballasts with Graphiclite T8 fluorescent lamps to produce superior light evenness, excellent rear wall illumination, and enhanced energy efficiency. A print bar and LiteGuard II, which displays lamp warm up, lamp hours, and remaining lamp life, are included. EVS viewing stations are available with a variety of storage options. Flat file sets consisting of eight drawers or two door storage cabinets can be used alone or combined with one deep or two shallow file drawers. GTI’s EVS color viewing stations are available in five models and are the perfect choice for prepress studios, agencies, publishers, offices, and production environments.

PDV Professional Desktop Viewers
Graphiclite PDV Professional Desktop Viewers are the industry choice for D50 controlled viewing of color prints. Viewing areas from 11.7” x 16.3” (30 cm x 41 cm) to 23.5” x 25.3” (60 cm x 64 cm) are available. All models fold for easy set-up, storage, and transport. Key features include: dimming option for soft proofing, optional side walls for tighter control, and an optional lower luminaire for critical applications.

VPI Vertical Print Inspector
The VPI Vertical Print Inspector is a D50 viewing station that is designed for the visual inspection of large format prints in a convenient vertical format. When using the VPI the observer can stand at a comfortable distance and visually compare the entire image with a color monitor, transparency, or reference print.

The VPI conforms to ISO 3664:2009 and comes in three standard sizes with a range of options. Options include variable intensity for soft proof comparisons, height-adjustable artwork holder to support three dimensional artwork, lower luminaire for better light evenness, and side walls for stricter control of ambient light.

Wall Viewing System
GTI’s wall viewing systems deliver proper light intensity over a large vertical area. Wall systems combine luminaires with Munsell N8/ neutral gray metal coated wall panels and mounting brackets to create an ISO 3664:2009 D50 compliant viewing area for large format projects.

Luminaires are available in two styles. The GLE series has a thin profile which is ideal for conference rooms and design studios. The GLL series is designed for color viewing in production areas. Luminaires are configured with single-source D50 lighting as a standard. Dual-source or multi-source luminaires to simulate home and store lighting conditions are available. Fixtures can be ordered in four or five foot lengths. A wireless remote control is available for all fixtures. For soft proofing applications, a digital dimming feature is available on four foot models.

Overhead Luminaires
GTI’s overhead luminaires feature an innovative prismatic lens and geometry of design that provides superb light uniformity over a large area. All GTI luminaires utilize Graphiclite 100 color viewing lamps and are engineered to provide precisely balanced D50 output. Luminaires are available in two styles.

The GLE series has a thin profile which is ideal for conference rooms and design studios (available with symmetrical or asymmetrical reflectors). The GLL series is designed for color viewing in production areas (available with symmetrical reflectors only).

iQ Soft Proofing Systems
Accurate Soft Proofing requires precise visual comparisons between your computer monitor and your proof or print. An iQ viewing system takes the question out of your luminance match and replaces it with repeatable accuracy based on a specially designed light sensor, the iQ.

The hand held iQ light sensor wirelessly communicates with an iQ compatible viewing station and captures the brightness level of the monitor. This data is automatically communicated to the iQ viewing station where it is used to calibrate the light level of the viewing station to achieve an optimal match to the luminosity of the monitor.

iQ proofing is included in the desktop SOFV-1xiQ, and is available on EVS and VPI viewing stations, and on overhead luminaires.

MiniMatcher Series
GTI’s MiniMatcher is ideal for the viewing of coatings, consumer goods, ink, packaging, and more. The MM-1e and MM-2e provide three standard light sources and the MM-4e includes five standard light sources.

Simultaneous Color Viewer
The Simultaneous Color Viewer is designed to help detect metamerism and test color harmony by allowing a visual side by side comparison of colors under four different light sources.
Color Rendition Demonstrator
The Color Rendition Demonstrator is a three-compartment viewer that demonstrates the color rendition of three varied light sources—fluorescent cool-white “store light”, 6500K fluorescent “daylight”, and incandescent “home light.” The Color Rendition Demonstrator allows you to educate your clients and vendors on how color is affected by different light sources.
